Breastfeeding can be one of the most natural and beautiful things in the world, but it can also be challenging at first. That's why I'm here. My name is Marta Bouina and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a Registered Nurse (RN) and a mom of two breastfed boys. With a background in nursing, extensive work experience at Sick Kids Hospital, University of Toronto as well as my lactation education - I have the expertise to help moms overcome difficulties they may be experiencing. I understand the physical and emotional demands of breastfeeding and I am dedicated to providing my clients with the highest level of care while supporting them and their vision of feeding success.
While overcoming various breastfeeding challenges myself, I became very passionate about breastfeeding and about giving my children the best possible start in achieving optimal health. Thus, in 2021 I completed my certificate in Breastfeeding Support at Mohawk College and did my clinical internship (working with over 500 families) in various clinical settings such as: Sick Kids Hospital, Markham Stouffville Hospital (Breastfeeding Clinic, NICU, Post Partum, Labour and Delivery department), and in private practice.
Now, I am able to offer a variety of services to meet your specific needs. Whether it's prenatal classes, at-home visits, or virtual consultations - you will be empowered and supported on your breastfeeding journey. Aside from my private practice I work as a Registered Nurse and a Lactation Consultant in a clinic specializing in Infant Tethered Oral Tissue releases, where I provide post-operative care and breastfeeding support.
